Hormozi built her first company, Gym Launch, from a personal training background into a licensing platform serving over 4,000 gym locations before its acquisition by American Pacific Group in 2021.[3][4] She simultaneously co-founded supplement company Prestige Labs and lead generation software company ALAN, both of which were acquired in the same transaction.[3]

In 2024, Hormozi and her husband Alex Hormozi signed with Creative Artists Agency for representation in speaking engagements and media opportunities.[1] She hosts the podcast "Build with Leila Hormozi" and maintains a social media following of 1.5 million on Instagram.[1][5]

Early life and education

Hormozi was born on July 13, 1992, to first-generation Iranian-American parents.[3] She attended Western Michigan University, where she earned a bachelor's degree.[3]

During her early twenties, Hormozi was arrested six times in an 18-month period, an experience she has described as a turning point that motivated her to redirect her life toward entrepreneurship.[3] In 2015, she moved to Orange County, California, and began working as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness.[3]

24 Hour Fitness (2015–2016)

Hormozi began her career as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness in Orange County, where she became the top-selling trainer in the Southern California region.[3] Her success in personal training provided the foundation for her later ventures in the fitness industry.

Gym Launch (2016–2021)

In 2016, Hormozi co-founded Gym Launch with her husband Alex Hormozi, serving as Chief Operating Officer and later Co-CEO.[3][4] The company developed a licensing model to help gym owners increase membership and revenue, eventually serving over 4,000 locations.[3]

Gym Launch was acquired by American Pacific Group in 2021 for $46.2 million.[4] The acquisition included Prestige Labs, a supplement company the Hormozis co-founded in 2017, and ALAN, a lead generation software company launched in 2019.[3]

Acquisition.com (2021–present)

Following the sale of their portfolio companies, Hormozi and her husband launched Acquisition.com in 2021 as a private equity and venture capital firm.[1][4] The firm invests in founder-led companies generating $3-30 million in annual revenue, focusing on asset-light, high cash flow businesses.[4]
