Terms of Service
Last updated: May 22, 2026
1. Overview
FounderRecord ("we," "us," "our") publishes sourced biographies of founders and operators. By accessing or using founderrecord.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Published Content
Records published on the Site are compiled from publicly available sources and are editorial in nature. Every factual claim is cited to its source. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free.
3. Corrections
Any person may request a correction to a published record by submitting a correction request through the Site. Corrections require supporting documentation — a link to a public source that substantiates the corrected information. We commit to reviewing correction requests within five business days. Corrections that are supported by credible documentation will be made promptly. Requests that lack documentation or that we determine to be inaccurate will be declined with an explanation.
4. Removal
Record subjects may request the removal of their page at any time. Removal requests require identity verification. We honor good-faith removal requests. Once removed, a page remains down permanently unless the subject requests republication.
We do not selectively remove individual facts from a record. If removal is approved, the entire page is taken down. We do not alter accurate, sourced content under external pressure outside this documented process.
5. Claimed Records
Founders may claim their record to add personal context through an editorial interview. Claiming a record requires identity verification and a paid subscription. Claimed records include both the public record (which the subject cannot unilaterally edit) and founder-contributed content (which is clearly attributed). If a subscription lapses, founder-contributed content is hidden but not deleted; the public record remains live.
6. User Submissions
By submitting a page request, correction request, removal request, or any other information through the Site, you represent that the information you provide is truthful and accurate to the best of your knowledge. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted information for the purpose of operating the Site.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, design, and structured data — is the editorial product of FounderRecord and is protected by applicable copyright law. Facts are not copyrightable; our original expression of those facts is. Source materials are cited, not reproduced.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FounderRecord and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted to the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
