Overview
Savneet Singh is an American entrepreneur and technology executive who serves as CEO and President of PAR Technology Corp, a publicly traded restaurant technology company.[8] Singh transformed PAR from near-bankruptcy with $3.4 million in cash reserves to a $2.75 billion market cap leader in restaurant technology, growing the company's software revenue from $5 million to $250 million annually.[2][5]
Prior to PAR, Singh co-founded Gold Bullion International, the first electronic platform for trading and storing physical precious metals, which earned him recognition on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Finance list in 2012.[6] He also co-founded Tera Holdings, a holding company focused on niche software businesses.[2]
Singh graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Applied Economics and Management in 2005 and began his career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley.[4][2]
Early life and education
Singh demonstrated entrepreneurial instincts from an early age, selling baseball and basketball trading cards on eBay with his brother as a teenager.[1] As a teenager, he beat a young Andy Roddick at tennis camp but chose to pursue business rather than professional tennis.[1]
He graduated from Cornell University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Economics and Management.[4] Singh is active in the Sikh American community, and his family founded Camp Chardi Kala.[9] Following the 2012 Oak Creek massacre, he led a campaign that raised over $200,000 for the victims' families.[9]
Career
Morgan Stanley (2007–2008)
Singh began his career as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley after graduating from Cornell.[2]
Gold Bullion International (2009–2017)
In 2009, Singh co-founded Gold Bullion International (GBI), creating the first electronic platform for trading and storing physical precious metals.[2] He served as the company's President, CEO, and COO during his tenure.[2] The venture earned him recognition on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Finance list in 2012.[6]
Tera Holdings (2017–2018)
Singh co-founded Tera Holdings in 2017, serving as Managing Partner of the holding company focused on acquiring and operating niche software businesses.[2]
PAR Technology Corp (2018–present)
Singh joined PAR Technology's board in 2018 before becoming CEO and President of the struggling restaurant technology company.[2] When he took over, PAR had only $3.4 million in cash reserves and was near bankruptcy.[5] Under his leadership, the company transformed into a market leader with a $2.75 billion market capitalization and annual revenue of $450 million.[8][3]
Singh grew PAR's software revenue from $5 million to $250 million annually, representing a 50-fold increase.[2] The company now employs approximately 1,700 people and serves as a global leader in restaurant technology, providing integrated software, hardware, and services.[8]
Recognition and public engagement
Singh was named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 Finance list in 2012 for co-founding Gold Bullion International.[6] He was also recognized by Crain's New York Business as one of their 40 Under 40 in 2018.[7] Additionally, he was selected for the Empact 100, recognizing the top 100 entrepreneurs under 30.[6]
Singh frequently speaks at business schools and conferences about corporate turnarounds and entrepreneurship. He is scheduled to speak at Cornell University about transforming companies in crisis.[4]
