Vohra has become known for his methodical approach to product development and his framework for achieving product-market fit, which he developed while building Superhuman from a 22% product-market fit score to 58% in under a year.[2] He has shared his insights on product development, fundraising, and company building through podcasts, newsletters, and speaking engagements.[1][6]
Based in San Francisco, Vohra has also become an active angel investor, backing over 100 companies.[10] His background as a game designer at Jagex, where he developed quests for RuneScape, influences his approach to product design and user experience.[10]
Early life and education
Vohra was born in Birmingham, United Kingdom, to parents who were both doctors.[1] He began programming at age 8 with the goal of creating video games.[1]
He studied Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005.[10] During his time at Cambridge, he served as President of Cambridge University Entrepreneurs.[10] In 2004, while still a student, he worked as a game designer intern at Jagex, where he developed the quests Monkey Madness I and Tai Bwo Wannai Trio for the online game RuneScape.[10]
Career
Rapportive (2010–2012)
In 2010, Vohra co-founded Rapportive, a Gmail plugin that displayed social media profiles and contact information alongside emails.[4] The company became the first Gmail plugin to scale to millions of users.[4] LinkedIn acquired Rapportive in 2012 for an undisclosed amount.[4]
LinkedIn (2012–2014)
Following the acquisition, Vohra joined LinkedIn as a Product Manager, working on LinkedIn Intro and other email-related products.[4] He remained at LinkedIn for two years before leaving to start his next company.[4]
Superhuman (2014–2025)
Vohra founded Superhuman in 2014 with the vision of creating the fastest email experience ever made.[4] The company spent three years in stealth mode before launching publicly in 2017.[4] Superhuman positioned itself as an email client for professionals who spend significant time on email, featuring keyboard shortcuts, AI-powered features, and advanced email management tools.[4]
In the early days, Vohra personally onboarded every new user, spending up to two hours with each customer to understand their email workflow and customize the product experience.[1] This hands-on approach helped the company develop its product-market fit methodology, which Vohra later shared publicly.[2]
The company raised $118 million across multiple funding rounds, including a $75 million Series C in 2021 that valued the company at $825 million.[5][3] Grammarly acquired Superhuman in 2025.[3]
