Overview
Lestat McCree is a British entrepreneur and the co-founder and chief executive of Healf, a curated health and wellness e-commerce platform based in London.[12] He co-founded the company in 2020 with his brother Max Clarke.[1] By early 2026, Healf had surpassed £100 million in annualised revenue while having raised under £5 million in external funding, and was ranked the No. 1 fastest-growing company in Europe on the Financial Times FT1000 list, with a compound annual growth rate of 621.74 percent between 2021 and 2024.[16][14] The same month, Healf was named the No. 1 fastest-growing company in the UK and Ireland on the Sifted Leaderboard.[17]
Healf operates as a curated marketplace organised around four pillars — Eat, Move, Mind, and Sleep — stocking more than 4,000 products from over 200 brands and serving more than 550,000 customers.[7][2] The company was bootstrapped for its first several years; McCree and Clarke personally packed and shipped orders during the early growth phase.[4] Healf raised a multimillion-dollar round led by Iris Ventures in 2025, and in 2026 closed a subsequent round led by SEMCAP Beauty & Wellness to fund international expansion and the development of Healf Zone, a biomarker-driven personalisation service.[10][3] McCree and Clarke were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list in the Retail & Ecommerce category in 2026.[7]
Before founding Healf, McCree studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at King's College London, completed a full-stack web development programme at Le Wagon, and worked as a partnerships manager at Urban, an on-demand wellness services platform.[4][19] He was 27 years old at the time of Healf's first formal press interview in late 2025.[4]
Early life and education
McCree was born in January 1998 and grew up in Manchester, England.[4][1] He and his brother Max Clarke both attended The Manchester Grammar School, one of the UK's academically selective independent schools.[4] McCree went on to study Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at King's College London.[19][20]
In 2019, he enrolled in Le Wagon's intensive coding bootcamp in London, earning a certificate in full-stack web development.[19] The same year, he completed a brief internship at Talis Capital, a London-based venture capital firm.[12] McCree has described the period as a deliberate phase of skill-building before launching his next venture.[19]
Outside of his professional career, McCree has competed in endurance and combat sports, including Ironman triathlons, amateur boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.[1] He has volunteered with Right to Dream, a Ghana-based organisation focused on poverty alleviation through education and sport, since 2016.[12]
Career
Urban (2019–2021)
McCree joined Urban, a London-based on-demand wellness and beauty services platform, as a partnerships manager in late 2019.[12] The role placed him at the intersection of wellness, technology, and consumer marketplaces, and gave him direct exposure to the fragmented nature of the wellness industry — an experience he has cited as formative in identifying the gap that Healf would later address.[19] He remained at Urban through 2021, overlapping with the early founding period of Healf.[12]
Healf (2020–present)
McCree co-founded Healf in June 2020 with his brother Max Clarke.[1][12] The company's origin was rooted in Clarke's personal health experience: as a teenager, Clarke had suffered chronic nosebleeds multiple times a week, which led him to experiment with supplements, sauna, dietary changes, yoga, and meditation.[1] Clarke later said that within about a year of adopting these practices, "I literally felt like a completely different person and the nosebleeds completely stopped."[1] Both brothers found the process of navigating the wellness market — scattered across dozens of websites, filled with conflicting advice — to be overwhelming.[2] McCree has said: "Well-being shouldn't feel overwhelming — but it so often does. From Day One, Healf has been dedicated to cutting through the noise with simplicity, credibility and curation."[2]
The platform launched publicly in 2021, organised around four proprietary pillars — Eat, Move, Mind, and Sleep — with a curation model in which the founders personally tested every product before listing it.[15][1] Healf was bootstrapped for its first several years. The brothers personally packed boxes and managed operations during the early growth phase, a period McCree later described as formative.[4] By early 2025, the company had reached £40 million in annual sales, representing 434 percent growth over three years.[19]
In June 2025, Healf closed a multimillion-dollar funding round led by Iris Ventures, with participation from JamJar Investments.[10][6] At the time of the round, the platform stocked more than 4,000 products, had a community of 325,000 customers, and had 282,000 Instagram followers.[2][10] Women's Wear Daily reported that the round would fund expansion into AI-powered personalisation and new product categories.[10]
In October 2025, Healf staged its inaugural live event, the Healf Experience (HX25), at 180 Studios in London.[18] The three-day festival drew more than 5,000 paying attendees and featured speakers including former England rugby player Jonny Wilkinson and Whoop principal scientist Kristen Holmes.[4][18] McCree described the atmosphere: "People were jumping in ice baths, taking saunas and doing red light therapy: it was a nuts weekend."[4] The same month, Healf passed £100 million in annualised revenue.[4] A profile in The Times noted that the brothers collectively retained approximately 60 percent ownership of the company, with shares also extended to all employees.[4]
Also in 2025, Healf launched a virtual storefront in partnership with Deliveroo Hop, making its products available for rapid delivery in London.[5] The Grocer reported that the partnership marked Healf's first move into instant-delivery retail.[5]
In March 2026, the Financial Times ranked Healf No. 1 on the FT1000 list of Europe's fastest-growing companies, based on a compound annual growth rate of 621.74 percent between 2021 and 2024 — the highest CAGR of any company on the list.[16][14] The same month, Sifted named Healf the No. 1 fastest-growing company in the UK and Ireland on its 2026 Leaderboard, a ranking that has previously included Monzo, Flow, and Cleo.[17] Forbes generated $56 million in 2024 revenue for the company and named McCree and Clarke to its 30 Under 30 Europe list in the Retail & Ecommerce category.[7]
In September 2026, SEMCAP Beauty & Wellness led a new funding round for Healf, acquiring a minority stake alongside investors including Pentland Ventures, Ami Capital, Active Partners, Sequel, Dara5, and Iris Ventures.[3][8] Individual investors in the round included Claudia Schiffer, Natalia Vodianova Arnault, and more than 40 professional athletes including Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah.[3][13] The capital was directed toward the development of Healf Zone — a diagnostics-driven personalisation service using home blood-testing kits and wearable device data to generate biomarker-led product recommendations — and international expansion, beginning with Germany in July 2026.[3][9][11] At the time of the round, Healf had surpassed $135 million in annualised revenue with fewer than 100 full-time employees.[3][16]
McCree is scheduled to speak at London Tech Week 2027.[20] His speaker biography describes Healf's long-term ambition as "building the operating system for human health."[20]
Recognition
In 2026, Healf was ranked No. 1 on the Financial Times FT1000 list of Europe's fastest-growing companies, compiled in collaboration with Statista, based on a 621.74 percent CAGR between 2021 and 2024.[16][14] The same year, Sifted named Healf the No. 1 fastest-growing company in the UK and Ireland on its annual Leaderboard.[17]
McCree and Clarke were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2026 list in the Retail & Ecommerce category.[7] McCree was selected as a featured speaker at London Tech Week 2027.[20]
