Early life and education

Goicochea was born in New Mexico to a family with deep regional roots, describing herself as a 17th-generation New Mexican with maternal family from Mexico and paternal family from New Mexico.[8] She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications from California State University-Sacramento and studied Advertising & Marketing at the Fashion Institute of Technology.[8]

In 2017, she completed a certificate program in Entrepreneurship Essentials at Harvard Business School, preparing for her transition from employee to founder.[8] Her early career began in healthcare legislation as a legislative aide at the California Medical Association before transitioning to brand building and marketing roles.[8]

Career

Early Brand Building (2012–2015)

Goicochea joined Everlane in 2012 as employee number seven, serving as Head of Social Media, Culture, and Hiring during the company's pivot to "radical transparency."[8] She built out the company's social media strategy, culture initiatives, and talent acquisition processes during a critical growth phase.[8] Prior to Everlane, she held marketing and ecommerce roles at Josie Maran Cosmetics, developing expertise in digital brand building.[8]

Tinker Watches (2015–2018)

In 2015, Goicochea co-founded Tinker Watches with her husband and a designer, gaining her first experience as a company founder.[8] The venture provided entrepreneurial experience that would inform her approach to building Maude.[8]

Maude (2018–present)
