Overview
Allon Bloch is an Israeli-American entrepreneur and the co-founder and CEO of K Health, a New York-based clinical AI company that provides virtual primary care through health systems, insurers, and a direct-to-consumer mobile app. K Health has raised over $439 million in venture funding and has served more than six million patients.[18][33]
Before founding K Health, Bloch co-founded Vroom, the online used-car marketplace that went public on Nasdaq in 2020, and served as co-CEO and president of Wix.com during its early growth phase before its 2013 IPO.[18][25] Across his career, Bloch has raised over $2 billion in total funding across the companies he has led.[20]
Early life and education
Allon Bloch was born in 1969 and raised in Israel during the 1970s, a period he has described as marked by wars, recessions, hyperinflation, and two currency changes.[26] He completed mandatory military service in the Israel Defense Forces before pursuing higher education.[27]
Bloch earned a BSc in biology with a focus on biochemistry and genetics from Tel Aviv University in 1994.[8] He initially considered a career in research but decided against laboratory work. "I studied biology, biochemistry and genetics and I decided I didn't want to be a researcher and work in the lab. I felt like I wanted to see the world," he later recalled.[27] In 1995, he moved to the United States to attend Columbia Business School, where he earned his MBA in 1997.[20] Columbia later recognized him with its Distinguished Innovator Award.[20]
Career
XMPie (circa 1996–2006)
Bloch co-founded XMPie, a variable data printing and cross-media marketing software company, in the mid-1990s. The company was acquired by Xerox in 2006.[13] The exact nature and timing of Bloch's involvement is not well documented in public sources; the venture may have overlapped with his early consulting career.
McKinsey & Company (1997–2000)
After completing his MBA, Bloch joined McKinsey & Company as a consultant in the firm's London office.[26] He has credited the experience with teaching him how Fortune 500 executives think and communicate, but left after approximately three years, driven by a desire to "control his destiny" rather than advise others.[26]
Jerusalem Venture Partners (2000–2007)
Bloch joined Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP) in April 2000, arriving at the peak of the dot-com bubble. He rose from principal to general partner over a seven-year tenure at the $450 million fund, investing in Israeli technology companies through the subsequent downturn.[26][25] He relocated from Israel to New York around 2004–2005. By 2007, Bloch had concluded that he wanted to be an operator rather than an investor. "I felt like I want to be a principal owner of the business. I don't want to just invest; I want to own," he later said.[26]
Wix.com — Co-CEO and President (2007–2010)
In 2007, Bloch joined Wix.com as co-CEO and president when the company had approximately ten employees, taking what he described as "a concentrated bet on myself."[26] He held the co-CEO title formally from January 2008 through approximately September 2010, helping scale the website-building platform during its formative years.[25] Bloch also served on the Wix board of directors from 2008 to 2013. Wix went public on Nasdaq (WIX) in November 2013.[25] In July 2016, Bloch rejoined the Wix board as an independent director, a role he continues to hold.[25][17]
mySupermarket / Dolphin Software Ltd. (2010–2014)
In October 2010, Bloch became CEO of mySupermarket, a UK-based online grocery price-comparison platform that had raised approximately $32 million in total funding.[33] Under his leadership, the platform grew to three million monthly unique visitors and became the fourth-largest grocery-related website by traffic in the United Kingdom.[33] Bloch managed the company from New York while the operations were headquartered in London. He departed in June 2014.[12]
Flok, formerly LoyalBlocks (2011–2017)
Bloch served as a board member of Flok (originally known as LoyalBlocks), a customer loyalty platform for small businesses, from September 2011 until its acquisition by Wix in January 2017.[25]
Greylock Israel / 83North (2012–2015)
Concurrently with his mySupermarket CEO role, Bloch served as a venture partner at Greylock Israel (later rebranded as 83North) from approximately July 2012 through January 2015, advising the firm's Israel and Europe fund on technology investments.[25]
Vroom (2014–2016)
In November 2014, Bloch co-founded Vroom, an online used-car marketplace, alongside Elie Wurtman, Marshall Chesrown, and Kevin Westfall. The company was built on the premise that consumers could buy and sell used cars entirely online. "People love cars, they just hate buying cars," Bloch told Entrepreneur magazine.[13] Vroom raised $54 million in its initial funding round in 2015 and grew rapidly, acquiring Texas Direct Auto in December 2015 in a deal that brought the combined entity to approximately $900 million in annual revenue.[32]
Under Bloch's tenure as CEO, Vroom grew revenue more than tenfold and sold over 40,000 cars per year.[22] In June 2016, Bloch stepped down as CEO, handing the role to Paul J. Hennessy, stating he wanted to return to earlier-stage company building.[22] Vroom went public on Nasdaq (VRM) in June 2020, raising approximately $467.5 million at a valuation of $1.92 billion.[32][18]
Genoox (2016–2019)
From October 2016 through October 2019, Bloch served on the board of Genoox, an Israeli genomics data analysis company that uses AI to interpret genomic data for clinical decision-making.[13]
K Health (2016–present)
In August 2016, Bloch co-founded K Health (originally Kang Health) with Ran Shaul, Israel Roth, and Adam Singolda, the founder and CEO of Taboola.[8][17] The founding thesis was rooted in both a personal experience and a data insight: Bloch's father had suffered a serious health crisis from unmanaged atrial fibrillation, and Bloch spent five to six months researching the healthcare industry before concluding that a sufficiently large clinical dataset could "demystify medicine."[8][18] K Health licensed a dataset of approximately two billion anonymized health events from Maccabi Healthcare Services, Israel's second-largest HMO, and built an AI system that shows patients how others with similar symptoms, demographics, and medical histories were diagnosed and treated.[24]
The company launched its consumer app in 2018 and grew rapidly during the COVID-19 pandemic, reporting 1,000% revenue growth and a user base that doubled each quarter in 2020.[20] K Health raised a $48 million Series C in March 2020[17] and a $132 million Series E in January 2021 at a $1.4 billion valuation, led by GGV Capital and Valor Equity Partners.[21][20] The company established partnerships with Cedars-Sinai and Mayo Clinic.[22][20]
In July 2024, K Health raised an $88.4 million Series F led by the Claure Group at a $900 million valuation, a step down from its $1.4 billion peak amid a broader downturn in private market valuations.[24][25] As of 2025, the company has served over six million patients, operates in 48 states, and is targeting an IPO by 2028–2029, contingent on reaching 25 to 30 health system partnerships.[18][26][20]
Hydrogen Health (2021–2023)
In April 2021, K Health, Blackstone Growth, and Anthem (now Elevance Health) formed Hydrogen Health, a joint venture to provide AI-powered virtual primary care to health plan members and employers.[27][28] Bloch served as CEO of Hydrogen Health concurrently with his K Health role. The venture launched services to approximately two million people through health plan and employer partners.[29] Bloch stepped down as Hydrogen Health CEO in October 2023.[30]
Bristol Technology
Bloch has served as a director of Bristol Technology, a role documented in corporate board records. Dates and details of his involvement have not been publicly disclosed.[13]
Milken Institute FasterCures (2025–present)
Bloch serves as a member of the FasterCures Advisory Council at the Milken Institute. He participated as a speaker at the Milken Institute Global Conference in May 2025.[31]
Public statements
Adding video to the doctor/patient relationship isn't innovative. But developing a proprietary technology that combines billions of anonymized clinical data points to show someone how others like them were treated and gets them better, faster care — now that is smarter medicine.

There is a claim that it takes 10 to 15 years for new medical information to disseminate through the health system, which is a travesty in my mind. Why not 10 months or 10 days or 10 minutes?

Personal life
Bloch is married with three children.[8] He is based in New York, NY, where K Health is headquartered.[33] He is fluent in Hebrew and English and maintains ties to the Israeli technology ecosystem through his board roles and K Health's data partnership with Maccabi Healthcare Services.[17]
Bloch has described his father's health crisis — a stroke resulting from unmanaged atrial fibrillation that left a previously healthy 69-year-old with speech impediments and limited arm mobility — as the defining personal experience behind K Health's founding.[8]
